The Tasmania State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition 2026 is coming to Hobart on Saturday 21 March 2026 at the City Hall, and Plato's is very excited to be involved! 

Puzzles will be provided by the Puzzle Collab – a new Melbourne-based brand featuring original art by Australian artists. Puzzles have been especially designed for AJPA and will be unreleased. 

About this event

The competition has three divisions:

• Solos (2.5 hour time limit, 1 person, 500 pc puzzle)
• Pairs (1.5 hour time limit, 2 people, 500 pc puzzle, one ticket per pair)
• Teams (2 hour time limit, 4 people, 1000 pc puzzle, one ticket per team)

All details and ticket purchases can be made on the Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association Website. Spectators are very welcome and can attend for free! 

Plato's will host a popup shop at City Hall (57-63 Macquarie Street, Hobart, TAS 7000) on the day selling Puzzle Collab jigsaw puzzles - including the ones designed especially for the event (which will obviously only be available after the start of each division :) ). These competition jigsaw puzzles will be available on site on Monday the 23rd March 2026 as well.

Timetable

• 9am: Doors open
• 10am – 12.30pm: Solo competition
• 1pm – 2.30pm: Pairs competition
• 3pm – 5pm: Teams competition
• 5pm – 5.30pm: Awards ceremony (all events)
